Where to begin....

Even though we should be posting about our trip to Buffalo I haven't had a chance to look at the pics so that will have to wait a little longer. I figured if I waited to do the posts in order, like so many things, it might never happen. Case and point-I opened Jacob's baby book last week and haven't filled in a thing since he was 4 months old. Sigh.
So here is a little bit about what we have been up to....
Both kids were sick the day before we left for Buffalo and pretty much stayed that way the entire time we were there....some days less running and coughing but it was hanging on till the following Saturday when we came home. We decided to spend Sunday trying to secure good naps and making panini's with the cool panini maker Brian got me for my birthday. So much for low carb diets with this thing around! LOVE it and we had some form of Panini EVERY single night this week. I know, that is weird.
Thankfully, Jacob was due for his 9 month well visit on Monday so I ambushed them and brought Stella along. So glad I did as she has not one but 2 ear infections. Her very first ones! The Dr. asked me if she was allergic to any antibiotic and when I told him she had never had any he was shocked! She has been a very healthy kiddo and we hope that continues despite this blip. I asked him if this would help with the tantrums and he got a kick out of that. ;-)
As for Jacob, he is doing AMAZING! He weighs 21lbs 14 oz and grew a whopping 2 1/2 inches! He is in the 99th% for his height and Brian has high hopes that court side seats at Madison Square Garden will be in his future. He is in the 75th% for his weight so slimming down a bit. Must be with all the crawling into the fridge and such.
Now on to a couple cute things....
It has been very very hot here this week...each morning I open the front door and then open the minivan doors (remote doors are the BEST) to get some air in the car before I but the kids in. On Monday Stella ran over and closed the door saying....too bright momma! I laughed and explained our goal was to leave the house and she looked up and said....I need a hat and sunglasses! I couldn't stop giggling. She has fought me like crazy with hats this summer but every morning this week she needed one to leave the house. Sorry I don't have a pic but I will try for one today. Seeing her saunter to the car in this wide brim hat is so stinking cute.
Although Stella has made some mini breakthroughs with Jacob we continue to struggle in this area. Sigh. I certainly doesn't help that he crawls everywhere she is and pulls on her and everything around her constantly. He is not doing anything wrong but that sure isn't how she sees it. Our days are filled with screeching that he's coming, he's coming or No Jakey looking at me (thought this one didn't happen for years) or just NOOOOOoooooooo! What is very funny is when she will use one of the nicknames we have for Jacob....little man, buddy, budz.
I was getting her dressed yesterday and he crawled into her room....Noooo, he's coming! No, Budz, Buuuuddddzzzz! He proceeds to crawl to her stool and I hear....Little Man......NOOOOO, My Stoooooool!!!!
With this constant possibility of hysteria I have come to really enjoy certain times of the day that may have been overlooked or under appreciated in the past. Lunch has become one of those times. Jacob and Stella are both strapped in their chairs FAR away from each other and we often chat about our morning and she will make Jacob laugh or ignore him altogether...either one is rather nice. This week we started playing a new game-eye spy. There is really nothing cuter than hearing Stella try to say...I spy with my little eye....and then she looks all around the room. I will try to get that on video to bore you with ASAP! Here are a couple cute pics that I got of them during lunch one day this week. We have some more fun stuff to post about so hopefully this weekend we can get caught up. Be sure to click on the pics if you want to see them big.
I love how she is grabbing for the berries without looking.
OH and you can see that Jacob has 5 and a half teeth! 4 bottom and 1.5 up top. I love his wifebeater onsie somewhat toothy grin....he is like a little hockey player!
