Clean Picture Thursday!

This week I learned a lot about being a mommy. On Monday I had one of the hardest days I have ever had as a mommy and Stella got the best of me in a big way in the parking lot of Shoprite. BUT Tuesday I had one of my best days ever as I learned that what she really needed was her mommy. I was almost afraid to leave the house after the 'incident' so I planned to stay home on Tuesday and spend as much time with Stella as Jacob would allow in hopes that I would understand what was wrong. It worked! Jacob was an angel and I spent my entire day having tea parties, reading books, playing choochoo, building with blocks.....you get the idea. Most days I try to get us up and out of the house for activities, playgroup, sing alongs etc. It is more for me than Stella as I get crazed being home all day. So on Tuesday I cancelled our giggles and wiggles date and we stayed in. I am so glad I did! We had a wonderful day and a wonderful week too. Today I gave both kids baths and managed to get a few cute pics! I love you Stella, thank you for being patient with me as I figure this mommy thing out! Jacob, I love you, thank you for being such an angel this week and giving us good sleep too!

PeePee Picture Thursday!

Stella Peed on the potty tonight!
We have had a rough week with Stella getting molars and being...well, two! And Jake wasn't too happy at night and we relived the first 2 precious weeks of his life as we were up and up and up all night!
BUT.......today was a good day with smiles and giggles and hugs and best of all....

PEE PEE IN THE POTTY!!!!!

I put Stella b on the potty before bed tonight and we sat and chatted and sang songs and I finally gave up..only to see that she had peed!!!!!!! IN THE POTTY!!! I scared the CRAP outta her with my screams of excitement! BUT the first step has been taken and I can only hope much more pee pee in the potty is to come! Here are a few shots from our day.

Stella and puppy in the playroom
Jake is 11 weeks old and likes hanging out on his mat!

Not so rested anymore

We were on a good streak both day and night but the past few nights the streak came to a screeching halt. Last night was reminiscent of his first few weeks at home. As much as I know I will miss those days at somepoint, I don't miss them yet and don't I want to relive them right now. sigh. To make matters worse Stella is getting molars and has lost her mind as a result! Well, that is what we keep telling ourselves because we hope that when the teeth come in she will return to her more lovely self. She has taken the terrible two's to a new level and with Jacob's antics we are feeling a little battered. BUT I managed to get a few cute pics in between crying fits-the kids and ours!

I forgot to update on Stella's 2 year appointment on Friday. She did GREAT even with the 2 shots she got! She is 34inches and 28lbs and doing wonderfully. YAY!!!!

Well Rested Picture Thursday!!!

Jacob slept 9 hours last night! We didn't because we kept waking up and worrying that he hadn't and could we hear him? But he did great and we are hopeful he will repeat this again and again and again! He is 10 weeks old today and doing fabulous! I must say that it is almost astounding how much I love my kids. Stella makes me so proud 400 times a day with her new words and how she is kind (with prodding) and what a sweet girl she can be. Brian put her down for bed tonight and he told me that when he put he blanket on her she said "cozy". I mean come on...what is cuter than that! I feel so blessed to have these two and can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! Here are a couple cute pics. I was using a lens I don't use much so forgive me that they might be a tad off.

Jacob's check up!

Jacob had his 2 month check up today.
Stats:
14lbs 9oz
24inches long
He is in the 95th percentile for height and a tad higher on the weight.
He is doing great and only cried when getting his 4 shots. Although he wasn't too thrilled about the oral immuz either he held his crying for the big stuff. My heart broke hearing his little sobs of pain and seeing those big tears. Holding him in my arms is such a great feeling and when I look at Stella I know how fast these days will go so I try to appreciate them....even the tough ones.
He had a rattling cough that started on Friday but Dr. Swayne said it is just a cold and it will run its course within a week or so. It was funny that when she asked me if I had any questions I had to answer 'No'. Not that I know it all now that I am the mommy of 2 but this time around you just don't have the energy to worry and overthink every little thing. It is rather refreshing. She joked that her moms with 3 and 4 barely even speak at their appointments much less ask a question.
Jake has also officially moved into his own room and seems to like his new digs. We missed him for about 10 minutes and that was that! We actually kept him with us longer than we thought we would so it was time! After 3 nights with 5 hour stretches in a row we know it was the right move and have hope that 6 and 7 hour stretches are on their way!
Here is a cell phone shot I took of Jake at the dr's. What a cutie. We finish the week at the dr's too as Stella has her 2 year appointment. Stay tuned!

Insanely Cute Stella

So Brian and I are slaves to our moniter. Mostly because we spend a lot of time in our basement which is where our computers are. So....we listen to Stella breathe and grunt and pass gass all night long. Honestly, I don't mind it. There have been nights when I have sat feeding Jacob at 3 am and could hear Brian breathing next me in bed and Stella breathing on the moniter and looked down at Jacob and been thrilled at how full my life is.

Anyway, the monitor has yielded a couple funny things from Stella that I wanted to note.
A couple nights ago I heard Stella singing in her sleep...it was a quirky little song from a music class we have taken....."Hammer, pound pound pound, hammer hammer pound pound pound". I assume she was asleep while singing because she sang it 10 times slower than it usually is. Very funny! Last night I heard her, again-slowley referrring to a new adorable show on Noggin...."Peppa Pig...Peppa Pig...Peppa Pig". Right now I am happily listening to her breathe and can't wait to hear what is coming up next. Here is a recent sweet picture I took of her with her bowl of blueberries. I love you Stella!

Update...Blogger has not been working tonight for me to upload the pic. BUT while waiting my dear Stella B has....in her sleep....been talking to or about her friends....gibberish gibberish Stevie-which she pronounces Steedie, gibberish gibberish, Becca, Gibberish Gibberish Ry Ry. Very SWEET!

Today after her nap she was singing twinkle twinkle little star! I really just can't think of anything sweeter than hearing her sing with her little raspy voice. She sounds a little Kathleen Turner/Carol Channing and I love it!

Happy Monthiversary Jacob!

Jake is 2 months old today! I can't believe it! YAY!!!! He is just amazing and such a blessing everyday. Although he still isn't sleeping great we think it is getting better or we are just too tired to know anymore. TeeHee. He is already so neat and even Stella has warmed up to him so much. She has a little people doll house with a mom, dad and baby whom she now calls "Baby Jake". So neat to see a little bond forming already! Here is a cute shot I took of him yesterday.
We Love you Jacob!
